The new feature was announced in June and was initially rolled out in the United States. Now, the head of the Meta social network, Adam Mosseri, revealed on his broadcast channel that the feature has been globally released.
The video download option on Instagram is similar to what already exists on TikTok, only available on public profiles. However, it can be disabled in the settings if you do not want your videos to be downloadable.
To use the feature, simply tap ‘Share’ and then ‘Download.’ The videos will be downloaded to the mobile device with an Instagram watermark and the original reels profile name.
